We do not use cookies - a small line of text stored with your Web browser - on this site to track visitor's identification. We do use cookies however when you register for distance education activities. The cookies are used to remember that you have logged in to the web site. Since web page requests are stateless in that each request is a completely independent transaction something is needed to remember who you are between requests. No personal information is stored in the cookie.
If you decide to register for one of our distance education course offerings, we will collect personal information that you voluntarily share with us. This information is transferred using secure encryption technology.
In addition to using this data for registration and entry into our database, we may use this information to contact you with email updates when new material is posted to the site. We will only contact you if you indicate that you want to be notified. If you want to change your status regarding this notification at a later time, you can change it yourself on the registration page for Internet courses or you can contact us to change it.
We keep confidential any personal information that you provide to us. This information includes your name, postal and e-mail addresses, and telephone number. The personal information you provide is stored in a secure location and only authorized people are able to access it. We do not share our registrants' information with other institutions, except as may be required by law. However, your name may be published in the list of registrants in the syllabus of the particular course for which you have registered.
If a fee is charged and registrants can pay online, we ask for credit card information. These transactions are encrypted before transmission over the internet.
We ask participants to complete a knowledge test and we ask them to evaluate the CME activity providing feedback to us on the educational value of the activity.
CEC uses your information to better understand your needs and provide you with better service. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a transaction, to communicate back to you, to update you on service and benefits, and to personalize our web site for you.
CEC will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others. Unless we have your permission or are required by law, we will only share the personal data you provide online with other CEC entities and/or business partners who are acting on our behalf to complete the activities described above.
